At Mount Horeb Bible-Presbyterian Church, our beliefs are rooted in the historic Reformed tradition, as expressed in the Westminster Confession of Faith and the Westminster Larger and Shorter Catechisms (1647). These timeless documents guide our understanding of Scripture, doctrine, and Christian living.
This statement reflects our unwavering commitment to biblical truth, gospel-centered living, and faithful witness.
We believe in the divine, verbal, and plenary inspiration of the Scriptures in the original languages. The Bible is inerrant, infallible, and the supreme and final authority in faith and life.
We believe in one God, eternally existing in three co-equal Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
We believe that Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God, was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, and is both fully divine and fully human.
We believe that man was created in God’s image but fell through Adam’s sin, incurring physical and spiritual death. All humans are born with a sinful nature and are sinners by thought, word, and deed.
We believe that Jesus Christ died a substitutionary death to atone for sin. All who repent and believe in Him are justified before God by His shed blood.
We believe in the bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ, His ascension into Heaven, and His exaltation at God’s right hand, where He intercedes for us as High Priest and Advocate.
We believe in the personal and visible return of Jesus Christ to judge the world and establish peace among the nations.
We believe that salvation is a gift of grace, received through faith—not by works. Those who repent and receive Christ as Saviour are born again by the Holy Spirit and become children of God.
We believe the Holy Spirit glorifies Christ, convicts and regenerates sinners, and empowers believers for godly living and service.
We believe Christ instituted Baptism for believers and their children, and the Lord’s Supper for His Church to observe until He returns.
We believe in the eternal security and blessedness of the saved, and the bodily resurrection and eternal conscious punishment of the lost.
We believe in the spiritual unity of all redeemed in Christ and the necessity of maintaining doctrinal and moral purity in the Church according to God’s Word.
